First Aid Products and Expiration Dates

You never know when emergencies will take place, so every company should be ready and prepared with a First Aid Kit.  First, have a list of products that are needed for your type of business.  We have prepared a sample list that is OSHA, ANSI and WFA approved, however, you will need to add any unique hazards to your list.

 

Once you have your purchased your items, it is important to check your supplies each month and any time after an accident.  Always check your supplies for expiration dates. We suggest that you add the expiration dates to the label of the product to make it easier each month to check because over time expiration dates that are on the side or bottom of containers will fade and become difficult to read.  Expiration dates are important so when expired, dispose of the product and purchase new, because each product is made up of a chemical compound that over time will loose its potency.  Equally important, when a chemical breaks down people can have an allergic reaction.  It is always safest to rely on the manufactures recommendations and dispose of all expired products.
