According to OSHA statistics from 2007, small contractors and construction companies with less than 10 employees were given 39,427 citations for a total of $29,254,984.00.

As you can see from the numbers above, it is very important to have a comprehensive safety program no matter what your size. You should not overlook Hazard Communication identifying all risks associated to the job or job site. Keep MSDS sheets readily available. Have the proper PPE (personal protective equipment) on hand and training in the proper use of PPE. A Safety Training Program and Regular Safety Meetings are a very important.
