What is Lockout Tagout?
- Prevents the unexpected release of energy during service or maintenance of machinery
- Prevents an estimated 120 fatalities and 50,000 injuries
- Regulated by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 and required by the Mine Safety and Health Administration
- A lockout device utilizes a positive means such as a lock to hold an energy isolating device in the safe position and prevent the energizing of a machine or equipment
- A tagout device is a prominent warning device, such as a tag, which can be securely fastened to an energy isolating device to indicate that the equipment being controlled may not be operated until the tagout device is removed
- Lockout Tagout devices can only be applied by an authorized technician

- Lockout tags are 6" x 3" unrippable vinyl and feature a 3/8" reinforced brass grommet
- Lockout devices are red varying in shape, size, and material
- Lockout kits contain a varying number of components depending on your need
- Lockout centers provide a central location to easily to access lockout tagout supplies.
