Eye Safety Checklist

We have put together an easy check list for you to follow for the 2000 eye injuries that happen each day.

1) Evaluate safety hazards.  Look for unstable items and debris that could fall and break causing flying debris.
2) All tools should be in good working order and most importantly all machines should have a safety eye shield / guard.
3) Educate each employee how to use machines properly.
4) Bystanders should not be allowed in areas that are hazardous.
5) Wear protective eyewear that is Z87 compliant. 
6) Eye protection must be in good conditions with no scratches or cracks.
7) Eye protection must fit properly and have side shields.
8) Remove dust and other debris from the top of hardhats before removing.
9) DO NOT rub eyes with dirty hands or clothing it can cause damage to the eye.
10) Clean eyewear regularly with lens wipes.
12) Prepare for an eye injury with eyewash and eyewash stations.
